Friday Favorites: Champagne & Shellac

It's Friday! Which obviously means it's Friday Favorites time yet again. I'm linking up with AndreaErika, and Narci, of course!

Number One: My bridal shower!

I had an amazing time at my bridal shower on Saturday. I can't believe it's been almost a week! If you want to see my recap, click here!
I didn't get a picture of these awesome champagne flutes in my recap. My mom and step-sister added polka dots to them with gold nail polish. The flutes all came from the dollar store or Ross!

Number Two: Bright dresses

I'm loving bright colors in my clothes lately. Bright dresses are so summery, they're definitely a favorite.
The dress I'm wearing is from Target (here). I've seen it on four blogs and on a stranger in person. Unfortunately, it's shorter on me than I would like (and shorter than I've seen it on anyone else), but I couldn't bring myself to return it. Long torso problems. The dress my friend Abby is wearing is also mine and is from Nordstrom (here).

Number Three: The greatest love story of my generation

AKA Jim and Pam. I seriously almost cried (tears of joy, mind you) reading this list. I had already seen their wedding episode, but the first time I watched the series all the way through with Michael I sobbed during that episode. Like, it was hard to breathe a little bit. They are just my favorites.

Number Four: A shiny new Keurig!

I knew I was getting a Keurig as a bridal shower gift from a family friend, but I didn't realize it was going to be the 2.0! I'm so excited. We had the cheapest, tiniest Keurig model (you put water in your mug and poured it in the top of the Keurig for each cup...every time). Anyway, I haven't used the new Keurig yet but it sure looks pretty on my counter. *heart eyes emoji*
We got some other great gifts that I'm so thankful for! We got nice, fluffy towels (I never knew I could be so excited about towels), I got a gift certificate for a massage (I've never gotten one before!), we got some gift cards...we were spoiled!

Number Five: There's a first time for everything...

A few weeks ago I mentioned in my Friday Favorites that I had painted my nails. So many people said I should try shellac, and I finally did!
I was so excited, and I'm still nervous every time I have to use my nails for anything because they feel thick (which makes me feel like they're still tacky), so I always think I'm going to dent them or something. But...do you see the white mark on the middle finger?! I scuffed it on something and it's not coming off! Has this ever happened to you and if so do you know if there's any way to get it off?! I'm so sad about it!

I hope everyone has an awesome weekend!

  9. I love getting my nails done with shellac! For my wedding, I went to the nail salon and had the white tips painted on with the shellac and my manicure literally lasted almost a month. It was awesome!

  10. The dress looks awesome on you, good thing you kept it! :) A huge congratulations on your engagement and upcoming wedding! I got married last year - honestly, time just flies. Wishing you the biggest of blessings (sounds like you got so spoilt - yay!) Also, that white mark on the shellac has happened to me too, but I couldn't figure out how to get rid of it! If you do, let me know!

  11. OMG - I LOVE YOUR NEW KEURIG!!! I have the kind like your old one. I really need to upgrade, but my husband doesn't drink coffee so I feel like I should use that money on something like clothes or shoes - ha! Anyway, congrats on your upcoming wedding!!! :-)

  14. I think Shellac is great! You could try rubbing alcohol on your nail to see if the white mark will come off.
