Mini Friday Favorites

I'm linking up with Andrea, Erika, and Narci again for Friday Favorites!

Honestly, this week has just been exhausting. I didn't get much sleep last weekend, and working four ten hour days means I wake up much earlier so I can get in to work earlier. But, being the responsible adult I am, I've been going to bed at the same time or later than usual this week. Since this has been a just-make-it-to-the-weekend type of week, I leave you with quite possibly the shortest Friday Favorites post ever!

Number One: Ice Cream & Manicures

Ice cream might be my all-time favorite dessert. It's not extravagant, but there are so many to choose from and you can just grab it at the grocery store. No fancy restaurant or assembly at home required. It's comfort food.
I didn't expect this ice cream to be that good. I normally find cookies 'n cream ice cream to be blah, but the chunks in this are perfectly chewy and actually taste like Oreos. And as you can see, I painted my nails! I always love when my nails are painted--for about the first day. It always chips or peels so quickly, so I don't do it very often.

Number Two: Three Day Weekends With Family

I'm so excited for this weekend! I have today off from work and I'm flying down to Oakland with Michael this morning to stay with his family for his sister's college graduation. I was hoping for some really sunny weather, but it looks like the high will be low-60's all weekend. That'll still be a nice change from the rain and gloom we've had here all week (I seriously went to work Monday morning in a maxi, sandals, and my denim jacket and came back to work after lunch wearing leggings, a tunic sweater, and boots)!

Number Three: Winning a Giveaway!

I mentioned in Monday's post that I won a $100 gift card to Joe Fresh from Shaeffer's giveaway! I was so excited. I never win anything. I already placed my order, but I won't blog about it until I receive it. I haven't decided if I'll give it its own post or just add it to my end of the month budget post. Sneak peak: there are a lot of v-neck tees (aka my weekend uniform) involved.
Yes, you saw this picture before. I just thought the post was a little too word-y. :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

  1. I love Ice Cream! Not such a fan of the ice cream cone but a bowl of ice cream is the best!

    1. I'm not a cone girl either! At ice cream shops I always just get it in a cup or bowl.

    1. Thank you! And I not-so-secretly got the idea from your blog, actually! I saw me on there and I was so excited! And then I was like, "I need to figure out how to do that!" Ha!

  3. iiiii am so sad that dairy makes me sick because ice cream is just… like little tiny scoops of heaven. i can have it in moderation so when i have it it's like winning the jackpot (OR WINNING A GIVEAWAY CONGRATS AGAIN!)

    1. It always makes me so sad when people say they can't eat ice cream. :( At least they make soy milk and coconut milk ones now. And thank you!

  4. I'm the same way when it comes to painting my nails! For a while there I was doing it once a week but it takes SO long and just chips after a day or two. I haven't had them painted since I got gel polish done at a salon back in February! Nails are such a pain. Congrats on the giveaway! I don't even enter giveaways anymore unless they're on a smaller blog with a better chance of winning. All that following just takes up my feed haha. Have fun in Oakland! I'm born and raised in the Bay. I'm excited to be heading there in a few weeks for my brother's graduation too.

    1. I've been wanting to get a gel manicure for the longest time. I never have! I feel like summer is the perfect time to try it for the first time!

  7. I have to stay away from buying icecream at the grocery store bc I always eat the whole container. Also, have you tried shellac manicures. They last like 3 weeks

    1. I haven't tried them. I prefer painting my own nails because I don't like to spend the money to get them done. But I think I'll try that eventually, maybe this summer. Then maybe for my wedding too!
